Working with Psychedelics During the Eclipse Window

Super Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse

On September 7, we experienced a Super Blood Moon lunar eclipse — the moon passed fully into Earth’s shadow, glowing deep red for over an hour. In astrology, eclipses act as thresholds: they reveal what has been hidden, shift emotional patterns, and mark turning points

This eclipse fell along the Pisces–Virgo axis, a polarity that speaks directly to the tension and harmony between spirit and matter, dream and discipline. Virgo brings structure, discipline, and technique — the practices that help us stay steady and grounded. Pisces, on the other hand, is boundless and vast, dissolving the edges of the self into oneness and flow. Together, they remind us that both are necessary: structure supports us until it is time to let go, surrender, and be carried into deeper currents of unity and trust.

In psychedelic work, this duality is alive. Psychedelics can open us into states of dissolution and vast interconnectedness (Pisces). Yet true integration comes when those experiences are anchored in practices, routines, and embodiment (Virgo). Without grounding, insight can slip away. Without surrender, structure can become rigid. Healing asks us to dance between the two.

During this eclipse window — from the lunar eclipse on September 7 through the solar eclipse and new moon on September 21 — you may feel called to pause, reflect, and integrate. Whether you are working with psychedelics or simply navigating the transformations of daily life, consider these guiding questions:

Reflection & Integration Questions

1. What has been stopping you or blocking you from loving yourself fully?

• In what ways have you resisted or delayed offering yourself compassion?

• How do you notice self-criticism showing up in your body, thoughts, or relationships?

• What would it feel like to soften those defenses, even just a little?

2. What do you need to build courage?

• Where in your life do you feel called to take a step forward, but fear or doubt is holding you back?

• What resources, allies, or practices help you stand stronger?

• If courage were already alive in you, what would your next step look like?

3. What secrets does your heart want you to hear?

• What truths have been whispering inside, waiting for your attention?

• Is there a longing, a boundary, or a desire that has been silenced?

• How might listening to your heart reshape how you show up in love, work, or daily life?

4. What is ready to be released under this eclipse shadow?

• Which patterns, relationships, or stories feel too heavy to carry forward?

• How would it feel to let them dissolve like the moon slipping into darkness?

5. What seeds want to be planted in this new cycle?

• What vision of yourself, your relationships, or your path excites you most?

• How can you nurture those seeds gently, without rushing their growth?

Take Your Time

These are not questions to answer quickly. They are invitations to sit with, journal about, or simply hold in the body. Integration is not about solving — it is about listening.

Eclipses remind us that change is inevitable, but how we engage with it can be intentional. With the right support, psychedelic work can help you release what no longer serves and root more deeply into clarity, courage, and connection.
